Ignore Field Mappings
When configured correctly, the Ignore Field Mapping condition allows you to prevent any field mappings from being processed for a specific employee when the defined condition evaluates to true. This means that during the synchronization process, Connect to AD will skip all configured field mappings for that employee, and no attribute updates will be sent to Active Directory or Entra ID for any field mappings.
This capability is useful in scenarios where certain employees should be excluded from standard synchronization rules—for example, executives, contractors, etc..
In the example below, the Ignore Field Mapping condition evaluates to true for employee 001234. As a result, Connect to AD bypasses all field mappings for that employee, and no mapped attributes will be updated in the target directory system.
Ignore Group Mappings
When configured correctly, the Ignore Group Mapping condition allows you to prevent any group mappings from being processed for a specific employee when the defined condition evaluates to true. This means that during the synchronization process, Connect to AD will skip all configured group mappings for that employee, and no group updates will be sent to Active Directory or Entra ID for any group mappings.
This capability is useful in scenarios where certain employees should be excluded from standard synchronization rules—for example, executives, contractors, etc..
In the example below, the Ignore Group Mapping condition evaluates to true for employee 001234. As a result, Connect to AD bypasses all group mappings for that employee, and no mapped groups will be updated in the target directory system.
