UKG Onboarding integration overview

Intro

Connect to AD now integrates with UKG Onboarding, bringing automation and consistency to the earliest stage of the employee lifecycle. Instead of waiting for employee records to reach UKG Pro, you can automatically create accounts, assign permissions, and apply configuration rules during onboarding in UKG Onboarding. When the process finishes, the same user smoothly transitions into the UKG Pro environment, ensuring data remains accurate, streamlining operations, and saving time and resources across teams.

How It Works

Connect to AD connects to the UKG Onboarding API via a secure connection using credentials provided by UKG. Once connected, it scans onboarding records and identifies users that match the filters set in the configuration. Only those meeting the chosen criteria are processed.

In parallel, the system checks the target environment (Active Directory or Entra ID) for existing accounts with a matching linking attribute. If a match is found, it updates the account with any new information from the onboarding record. If no match is found and the provisioning rules are satisfied, a new account is automatically created.

When a record moves into UKG Pro and receives its permanent employee ID, the system automatically:

• Updates the linking attribute
• Removes the onboarding link
• Transfers the user to the Pro environment.

Similar to standard synchronization, Connect to AD also provides notifications to keep teams and managers updated on changes throughout the process. This helps ensure data consistency across systems, reduces manual work, and supports a smooth transition from onboarding to active employment.
